The Blume Community Introduces Us to Their BFFs

In our recent #BlumeBuds survey spotlighting friendships, 1,500 of our community members were asked to introduce us to their BFFs. We wanted to know: who are they? What do they mean to you? Every single answer blew us away.

Friendship is so special and we've collected some beautiful answers here to share with the rest of you:

"17 years, we are cut from the same weirdo cloth, we can communicate with just a look, no matter how long we've spent a part when we get together it's like nothing changed."

"The funniest and most loving human I have ever known. Over 25 years as friends."

"I love my best friend because we could literally do anything together and never stop laughing"

"I’ve known my best friend since 8th grade when she transferred to my middle school, and we’re both turning 23 this year. She gets me like no one else does, and is never afraid to tell me her deepest thoughts, even when they’re dark. We both prefer the hard truth rather than sugar coating it, but we’re always considerate of the other’s feelings. We used to daydream about being young adults as teens, and now we both wish we could go back and change something to better prepare us for the future! Even though we’re both a little lost in our lives, it’s comforting to know that she’s going through it as much as I am, and that we can talk about stuff like that without getting uncomfortable."

"I’ve known my best friend (and we’ve been best friends) since fourth grade. 15 years!! We understand each other’s family dynamics, have a ton of history and inside jokes, and have grown with each other. She is hilarious, understanding, and compassionate. She’s my family!!"

"My 21 year old daughter is my best friend. She knows when I’m sad & what makes me happy"

"I met her my freshman year of college and she's like the sister I never had."

"My best friend was a foreign exchange student who stayed with my family for a week. She was shy like me, and we clicked. We keep in contact even though she lives far away, and we confide in each other and give each other advice through hard times."

"My best friend and I have lived in the same neighborhood our entire lives. However, we didn’t know each other until our grandmas met each other and introduced us as we were getting ready to start high school. What makes Kiran my best friend is the fact that no matter how long we go without seeing each other, we make sure the time we have together is well spent. We put all distractions aside to be present for the other person. I know I can go to her with any problem at any moment in time, and she will give me her undivided attention and complete support."

"We have known each other for 13 years, I am completely myself around her, and don’t know how I would survive school without her. She is what makes me enjoy my classes and we love helping each other out. I’m very thankful for her."

"I have known my best friend since our youngest daughters were in kindergarten! They are juniors in high school! She is always encouraging and up for adventures! She can be serious, funny, spiritual, and loves to gave fun. Best of all, she loves me!"

"We have been best friends since my sophomore year of college so 13 years now. She’s my best friend because she’s been there everything: family deaths, jobs, lost men that came and went, and never given up on me"

"Suze is my bestest bestest friend in the world. I don't know what I would do without her we have known each other 30 years. She is my peanut butter toi my jelly, my friend fry with my ketchup!!!"

"I've known her for about 6 years. We make time for each other, in texts, video chats, hanging out face to face. Our friendship grew stronger even when we spent long amounts of time apart. She keeps it real and tells me when I'm being stupid. She helps me to actively grow and be a better person everyday. I wouldn't be who I am without her love and support."

"My best friend, Randi and I met over 10 years ago in grade 9 gym class. She ran up to me and introduced herself. We always managed to circle in and our of each others lives and now... She's my maid of honor!"

"My best friend and I have known each other since our undergrad days (10+ years ago). They are loyal, funny, smart, and always make the effort to keep in touch, make plans and remember important events. We were long distance BFFs for the last 8 years and have just moved back to the same city, which is amazing!"

"6 years, only positive vibes and full acceptance"

"I've known her since she was born. Our mothers were friends and pregnant around the same time. We were really close as younger children but lost touch until our early teens. After reconnecting, we have been super close despite one of us moving to the other side of the country for school. She's my best friend because we encourage and support each other, and push each other to step outside our comfort zones. We communicate well and can understand how the other person is feeling without words. We have similar interests, and a night in is just as fun as a night out for us! I would hands down spend the rest of my life with her."

"My friends are all scattered around the world so they all hold value to me whether we’ve been friends for 5+ yrs or known each other for 6 months. They all have value to my life."

"I'm not sure who my best friend is platonically, but I'd say my best friend is my husband. We've known each other for 8 years, been together for 7.5, been married for 1.5. He's here for me no matter what."

"I don’t really have a best friend, I just have a bunch of friends that I equally love. I wish I had one though."

"I met my best friends in college, we are best friends because from the beginning we have always been able to be our weird selves around each other. My best friends have beautiful hearts, they never fail to make me laugh, and they understand me and make me feel known. They have loved and supported me through so much and that's why we will always be friends."

"25 years we make flower arrangements together, go to paint nights together, play cards, have a drink in the yard."

"My husband is my best friend. We’ve known each other 10 years and we can talk about anything. We’ve spent so much time together yet still get along and love hanging out. He is supportive of my interests and a good listener. We have tons of fun."

"I have known my best friend for 2 years now. We work together as a nurse in a hospital. We both love caring for others. She is an amazing person to go to for any situation. We are so much alike not in just hobbies but also in appearance, that others call us the blonde twins."

"I’ve known my best friend at least 10 years. We went to the same middle school and have been friends ever since. We both are pretty quiet people, but we love the same stuff. We can talk about books we like for hours at a time and we always enjoy eating lunch together and jamming out to music in the car."

"I have known my bestie for 20 years and we met at work. She has been thru every milestone in my life... Loss of jobs, marriage, kids, divorce and has supported me with unconditional love. She is more of a sister than anything. She is my family."

"My best friend and I have known each other for almost 30 years. We have struggled through the hardest moments of our lives together, and we have celebrated the greatest. She knows every side of me, and she still chooses to stick around!"

"Well my childhood BFF is Erin and we’ve literally been bffs our whole lives our moms were friends in college and they got married around the same time and started having babies so we were born a few months a part and have besties for life and now our kids play together. My other BFF I meet a few years ago she was my roommate and we just immediately clicked and I just love her like a sister she’s the best."

"My best friend offers an inexhaustible supply of support and love, even tough love when necessary. Endless laughs, quality times, and hilarious antics."

"I have a complicated history with the term best friend" but since moving I'd have to say my hair stylist. She started as just that but in the year I've known her we've hung out more and she's been there for me through good times and bad. She is my rock and always knows how to make me smile, and I hope I do the same for her."

"6 years! We met in college when I was seeking a house mate. We are now living 4 hours apart but always make time for each other to catch-up and go on girls trips! She has been there for me through ups and downs through changes and uncertainties"

"7 years, online found!"

"We have known each other since grade 9 of high school. We travel together, sweat together and most importantly, grow together"

"We have only known each other 18 months and we met on social media. She is like the little sister I never had. We connected immediately and she is my soul sister. We are there for each other through every thing. She’s the best person I know."

"My best friend and I have know each other for a little over two years, she has always stood up for me in my field as a woman in a male dominated field when others would try to overstep my thoughts on subject matter, and she’s always encouraged me to follow through and demand respect."

"My best friend and I have been attached at the hip for more than 8 years. It started out skipping class to go to IHOP & now we have to travel to different cities to visit each other. I talk to them every day. They uplift me and remind me where I came from and where I’m going."

"Me and my sister didn’t become best friends until high school. We HATED each other growing up until then. People sometimes would even not know we where sisters. So I want to say we officially became best friends 2007, my sisters is my best friend because we share the same jokes and interest, we are always trying to hype and level each other up. What’s maker her my best friend is that she’s always down to go with me places and company because my fiancé is a sheriff I and he is working nights right now and she knows it’s tough and on me so she keeps me company even though she is married."

"We have known each other for 12 years. I have lived with her and she has supported me through every up and down in my adult life, whether she agreed with me or not. She’s also never afraid to give me her opinion even if I may not like it. She’s honest with me and loyal and we have a blast together."

"It’s so hard to narrow down because I have so many friends, but the one I would have to consider my best friend is one who never judges my decisions, but hears me out and really listens. She understands that I’m flawed and not perfect and that I make so many mistakes in our friendship. My best friend is gorgeous, confident, energetic, always looking for the next adventure like me, and willing to give anything a try. We bring out the best in each other - which is why we’re moving to California together next week!"

"We’ve been best friends since third grade, we’re now both 22 and close as ever! She’s loyal and loving, she’s funny and knows me better than I know myself. She loves adventures and is always bringing me out of my comfort zone to try new things"

"I don’t have a “best” friend nor do I believe in them. I appreciate all of my friends equally because they’ve all done so much for me and cared for me. Whether we see each other once a month or everyday, I know I can count on them. They make me feel like I matter and remind me that i am worth so much."

"We’ve known each other for 32 years and she’s the closest thing I have to a sister. She’s the kindest, most generous, fun, and genuine person and I am so so lucky. We’ve been close all these years even though we’ve taken different paths."
